Hi, I'm Jennifer Ferris, and I am THE free Art Coach!
My Passion for Art & Teaching
From a young age, art has been the heartbeat of my existence, evolving into a lifelong passion that has driven me for nearly 30 years. My journey as a painter began with a simple love for the craft, which deepened over the decades into a rich, intricate practice.
For over a decade, I've channeled my experience and enthusiasm into teaching, guiding students through the vibrant world of painting. Now, as an art coach, I specialize in one-on-one mentorship, focusing on nurturing individual artistic practices and helping painters unlock their full creative potential.
This evolution from artist to educator and coach reflects my commitment to not just creating art, but also empowering others to thrive in their own artistic journeys.
Why I am "the FREE art COACH"
Each artist's path is unique, and yet there seems to be so much "one size fits all" information and instruction. I have found so much joy in offering personalized instruction to practicing artists for the past 10+ years. When I am teaching a private painting or art business lessons, or a small group class, I constantly hear comments such as "Wow, no one has ever taught me that!", or "This is so much fun, AND I love the way it looks!", or questions such as "How do you know all this?!?"
Because I personalize each lesson for the student(s) attending, I end up creating LOTS of very specific content for these lessons for FREE. I charge my in-person students only for the time that we are in class together, but I provide them with so much more!!! Of course, I can only help a limited number of artists with in-person coaching. And, since I want to help as many artists as possible, I started theFREEartCOACH.com website as a repository for all the content I have created and continue to create as I work to address the needs of my students.
While my own art practice is still very important to me, I find helping other artists succeed in their creative journey as very fulfilling. I would like to help as many artists as possible, and maybe in some way I can help to make some changes in the art industry, or at least in the way artists are taught. At the very least, I want to share the knowledge I have accumulated over the past 29 years as a practicing artist.

- the chance to have one of your paintings reviewed for free. If I select your painting from the group of submissions, I will provide you with suggestions that includes at least one mockup.

If you want to guarantee getting a review, I do have:

If my review suggestions resonate with you, then I encourage you to learn more about my coaching process. I start with lots of questions and discussions to fully understanding your current process, skillset, and vision. From there, I will make recommendations on a plan that we will finalize together.
